A Christmas Wish...

It's getting that time of year to start thinking about Christmas. Exchanging names is always a favorite of mine. I have these three friends and that is what we do every year. Then in December we have our party and we exchange our gifts. For example: last year my friend Karen had the party at her house and she did a fabulous job. Her house was decorated so pretty with 3 or 4 Christmas trees. Oh and let me tell about one of her trees she was bragging about this last year. She may have it on her blog not sure but it's worth checking out. She found shotgun shell lights for her tree that she found at the dollar store. She cracks me up sometimes. I will have to get her to post a pic of it if she doesn't already have one posted. Here's her blog if you are interested in locating that pic abracardabra.

Today I have made a 3x3 Christmas tag. I just love this stamp set that that came from the Stampin' Up catalog. It may be retired by now. I just love the Kraft card stock and the white craft ink around the edges. I think it turned out pretty.

Gable Box and a tutorial

Happy Tuesday everyone. It is such a beautiful day here in Ohio. I just love this time of year. I know it's been over a week since I have posted. Okay for today's project, I made a gable box. I got this idea from splitcoaststampers. There is a tutorial on there and a video on how to make the project that you will see below.

Gable Box

by Regina Andari

Create this adorable box with a few scores, cuts and punches.
Supplies
One 8 1/2" x 11" piece of Cardstock
Paper Cutter with scoring tool
Sicky Strip™ or other strong adhesive
Scissors
Stamps
Ink
Punches
Corner Rounder
Crop-a-Dile™
Embellishments

Step-by-Step

Step 1
Score 11” side of cardstock at 1/2", 3 1/2", 5 3/4", and 8 3/4".

Step 2
Score the 8 1/2” side at 3" and 6 1/2".

Step 3
Fold the bottom of the card stock (the portion with the short scored sections) under and stamp across the exposed area of card stock.

Step 4
Cut each score line up to the intersecting score line to create flaps as shown.

Step 5
On one edge of the card stock, you’ll have 1/2” flaps.
Cut off the two 1/2" flaps on the ends, leaving the center flap.

Step 6

Place Sticky Strip™ on the 1/2" flap.
Be sure to place the adhesive strip on the front (stamped) side. Leave the liner on the adhesive.

Step 7
Place Sticky Strip™ on the other flaps as shown to createl interior sections of the box.
Leave the liner on the adhesive.

Step 8
Center punch over panel and push the cardstock all the way into the Wide Oval punch to create handles for the box.

Step 9
Use the corner rounder on the corners of the handles.

Step 10
Peel the liner from the 1/2" flap on the side of the box (mid section).
Fold the box into shape so that the ends meet the adhesive. If necessary, fold the flaps out of your way.

Step 11
Peel the liner from the side flaps and adhere them to the interior sides of the box for added stability.

Step 12
Remove the liner from the bottom flaps.
Fold in the two smaller flaps and then adhere one of the longer flaps to the smaller flaps.
I fold in the flap that’s on the side where the seam is so the front of the box will be seamless.
Fold the remaining flap into place.

Step 13
Decorate the front of the box. Use the Crop-a-Dile™ to punch holes for the ribbon closure.

Another Calendar....

I loved making the calendar so much the other day. I have decided to make another one but using the biggest die. I thought the calendar was really pretty but a little smaller than what I would prefer. It will make great gifts for christmas but I really wanted a bigger one to put on my desk.

I think this size is my favorite. I used the same calendar that Carolina had posted on her blog as a free pdf file.

I was browsing some of my favorite blogs a week or so ago and I came across this cute video tutorial on how to make this calendar.

I really had fun making this little calendar. I already have plans for these. I haven't gotten my glassine envelopes in at this time but I am hoping to receive them really soon. When I do, I will make a cute envelope to put them in and I will post that pic later.

Craft Room Update.....

Well I'm still in the process of re-organizing my craft room. Since the craft room hasn't been used in so long, it had become the storage room. My husband said it was so nice to be able to see the floor again. I do have to agree with him. Hoping in another week I will be in there making all sorts of projects.

While you are waiting for craft updates, I have a few more pics to share with you of our trip to California. These are of Carmel, Monterey, Pebble Beach, Muir Woods and as we drove along the coast back to San Francisco.

This is the lighthouse that we spotted while driving along the coast. Just beautiful!!!

Below are a few pics from Carmel. You can see Pebble Beach over in the distance.

This is Monterey. I really liked visiting here if only it were warmer and not so overcast.

San Francisco Photos....

Yesterday I said that I would post some more photos of our trip to California. Today I will be posting photos that we took in San Francisco. California is a beautiful state but just way to congested for me. Everyone was in such a hurry to get to where they were going. It's a place that is fun to visit but not sure about living there. We are, however, already talking about taking a trip back next year.

While we where in San Francisco, we took the bay cruise and going under the Golden Gate Bridge was awesome. But while we were on that cruise, it was so cold I was shaking. If you know me, you know it had to be cold because I do not freeze that easily. We did not spend as much time in San Francisco as I would have liked but that was okay because I did get to see a lot of other wonderful places.

I received a call from the school nurse around lunch. My little guy was sick running a fever and vomiting. I had to run and pick him up. I can't believe it's just the third day of school and he has already caught a bug. Then again he has never been around so many kids like this before. I suppose it's normal. I'm letting him spend the rest of the day on the couch watching Spongebob. I know when I was his age and sick my mom used to baby me. Now it's my turn to do that for him. I hope he gets to feeling better soon because he's really enjoying school. I think he maybe staying home with me tomorrow. That's okay I sure miss him when he isn't there with me.

Returning to my blog

Well it has been a little over two years since I have blogged. Now that my son has started kindergarten, I will have my days to myself, I thought it would be a good time to get back into my paper crafting and blogging. I am in the process of reorganziing my craft room. Hopefully in a few weeks I will have something to post.

Since I do not have anything to post, I thought I would share with you where my husband and I took a little trip to. We traveled to California the first week in August and we had a blast. It was my first time flying which was scary and fun all in one. A few places we visited where Yosemite, San Francisco, Pebble Beach, Carmel, Monterey, Muir Woods and we drove along the coast back to San Francisco. OMG!!!!!.... Yosemite was absolutely BEAUTIFUL. If you haven't been to Yosemite, you really need to plan a vacation there. You will, however; need a few days or even a week to see everything in Yosemite.

Here are a few photos of Yosemite for you to enjoy until my creative juices get flowing. Tomorrow I will share some photos of San Francisco and a few other places.

Here's a card that I finished last night after I got home from work. I borrowed this stamp from my friend Karen. I had gone to her house on Saturday to play with our stamping supplies and I fell in love with this little stamp. I think this stamp set came from Whipper Snapper. Isn't she the cutest?

The base card is 4 1/4 x4 1/4 it is kraft from SU. Other colors that where used are chocolate chip, white and the Parisian Breeze Specialty DSP. I used the new edge punch from SU and retired ribbon is also from SU. I also used the adorable stamp that is from the Warm Words set.

Mojo Monday #83

It's been a while since I have done one of the Mojo Monday Sketches. Braedon took a long nap today so I had time to do this sketch before he woke.

I started with a 4 1/4 x 4 1/4 whisper white cs for the card base. I used Kiwi Kiss CS and the prints pack that was one of the hostess levels from last year (I think). The ink that was used was Kiwi Kiss, Stazon Black and Pretty in Pink. I used the stamp sets Party Hearty and a set from last years SAB Birthday Whimsy. I used the Scallop circle punch with the 1 3/8 circle punch and the eyelet border punch with pink ribbon and pop dots for dimension.

Here's a box that I made with a matching card. The stamp set is from the mini catalog from Stampin' Up! called Great Friend. The ribbon and the whisper White CS is also from Stampin' Up!. The dp I'm not sure about.

Here's the matching post-it-note holder that I absolutely love.

Here's the actual post-it-notes. I used the stamp from Friends 24/7. I stamped it in pink pirouette ink.

What do you think about my photos? Don't you think they turned out really good. I have been looking for a light tent but did not want to pay a hundred dollars for one. I was searching the web last night and found instructions on how to make your very own inexpensive Light tent. So I rushed out to walmart this evening to buy all the supplies and voila my photos look really good.

If you are interested in the instructions to make your very own light tent without spending a lot of money, please let me know and I will pass the website onto you.

A Little Something For You!!!

Today I decided to make some stationery for a friend who loves birds. For the folder I used one sheet of 12x12 card stock. Scored at 6" and turned the card stock and scored at 9".

I used the stamp set Friends 24/7. I stamped the image in close to cocoa and stamped it onto white cs. I also used the stamp set from SAB called Yummy. It was also stamped in close to cocoa ink. I used chocolate chip ribbon and the envelope die from SU to hold the envelope seals. The envelopes and stationery sheets are from Papertrey Ink.

For this card I used the stamp set Great Friend . This card is also 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

I used the designer paper Walk in the Park. Also for this card, I used whisper white for the card base. For the designer paper I used the eyelet border punch. I used the square nestabilities on the so saffron and whisper white card stock. I used the paper piercer on the so saffron cs. I stamped the butterfly in close to cocoa twice and cut the one of the butterflies out and attached it to the second image. For you is also stamped onto whisper white cs in close to cocoa and I cut it out and adhered it to the card with a pop dot for dimension. I attached so saffron ribbon.

For the inside of the card is pretty much done the same way. I used a piece of kiwi kiss cs and another piece of Walk in the park dsp. I also used the eyelet border punch on the dsp. Attached so saffron ribbon and stamped the image onto whisper white cs and used the scalloped square punch.

For this card I used the cute stamp set Forest Friends from the mini catalog. The card base is 4 1/4" x 5 1/2. I used Designer paper To The Nines Specialty.

The card stock that I used for the main image are Chocolate chip, sage shadow and whisper white. The chocolate chip is cut using the square nestabilities. I adhere a piece of sage shadow to the chocolate chip. I stamped the image in chocolate chip and stamped it onto whisper white CS. I then used pop dots to adhere the main image to the sage shadow. Also used is retired chocolate chip ribbon from SU.

I made this matchbox using Kiwi Kiss and a piece of Not Quite Navy Cardstock and the stamp set from the sale-a-bration catalog Yummy and the butterflies from the stamp set Great Friend in the mini catalog. I stamped the images onto whisper white CS. I cutout the butterflies and used pop dots for dimension.

Sympathy Note Card

I have been a busy girl over the weekend making things with my stamps. This is a simple 3x3 note card that I made using the stamp set You are in my thoughts. I stamped the image onto whisper white cardstock and used watercolor pencils and colored the image and stamped the sentiment using stazon black ink. I then used the double rectangle punch and added 1/4 Elegant Eggplant ribbon.

Once again, I am using my favorite die the Top Note die by Stampin' Up!. I decided that I needed a book to keep all my passwords in. I thought this die would make a cute book. The Front and back cover is chipboard covered in DSP. I have to say it turned out really cute.

I'm having a hard time taking a good photo of my work. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Sometimes the photos turn out really good but for the most they are not very good at all.

Another Post-It-Note Holder

Hello everyone, hope your day has been a good one. I have been trying to do some housework. My least favorite thing to do. Braedon has fun helping. He likes to dust the furniture an then he is ready to pull out the toys once they have already been picked up. He's actually watching TV while I post this new post-it-note holder. I am really loving these post-it-note holders. Whoever came up with this idea, I love it.

For today's post, I have made a really cute post-it-note holder. I think this one is my all time favorite way to display post-it-notes.

Black Friday Something Challenge

Merry & Bright Christmas Card

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I really enjoyed mine. I stayed home with my husband and my precious son. My daughter wanted to spend Thanksgiving with her Granny and go shopping on Black Friday. She came home today and she said that she had a wonderful time. I sure did miss her and I am so happy that she is home.

It really took awhile for the stamps in the mini catalog to grow on me. But once I saw the beautiful projects that many crafters made using these stamp sets, I had to have them.

Here's a card using Mr. Twigster stamp set. Now this set I really did not like when I first saw it until someone had it posted on their blog. Now it is one of my favorites.

I really like my Big Shot. I am really happy that I purchased it. I also had doubts about it. The envelope die is another one of my favorites.

Here's another Christmas card that I have made.

Christmas is usually my favorite time of the year but for the last few years it has not been. I have always been the one who loves to decorate inside and outside of the house. When I used to work, I would have my cubicle all decked out. But now it's like a chore, I really dread the holidays. I think as we get older we do not enjoy it as much as we once did.

Bookmark With Ribbon

I have seen a few of these on other blogs. I am not sure if I did mine the same as the others but here's the one I created.

I used two pieces of chipboard and glued the ribbon between the chipboard. The size of the chipboard is 2x2. I then used Bella Rose DP and applied mod podge over the dp. I hope it will stay together now that I used the mod podge. I cut out my stamped image and placed it along with a 1 inch piece of kiwi kiss cs and I stamped cherish on white cs and punched it out using the window punch. I again applied the mod podge over the stamped image. I hope you like my book mark. It maybe to thick to put in a book.

Birthday Card

I can't believe that my sister's birthday is almost here and I am just now making her card. I am such a bad sister sometimes. She will kill me but I can't remember if her birthday is on September the 14th or the 15th. The reason why is because my brother's birthday is on one of these days also. Isn't it strange how this occurred. My brother is two years older than me and my sister is four years younger than me and their birthday falls like this. I am still in the process of making her gift which I hope she will like. So Tina, if you are reading this post Happy Birthday my wonderful sister. Your birthday card will be in the mail before the week is over.

Here's the card that I decided to make her. I know I keep using this stamp set. It's because it is my favorite one. I need to move on to another one but just can't seem to do it just yet.

Upsy Daisy Address Book

I really like the Upsy Daisy stamp set. I think it is my all time favorite set. Here I am using the stamp set on an address book that I put together last night. I was up until 3:30 this morning working on this cute little thing. Then I had to get back up at 5:30 because Brittony had to get ready for school. Then the day gets even better because around 10:30 or 11 this morning the electricity goes out and Braedon and I have had no air conditioning and that was not good. We both were getting really cranky. Finally between 4 and 5 this evening it was back on. That's enough about my day.

Here's my acetate treat box for Monday's TLC182 challenge. These little boxes were a blast to make. I made mine to put a small gift in for someone special. I shredded and crimped the blue bayou and purely pomegranate card stock to add to the inside of the box. I will add a gift later. I added Velcro to the top of the box so that it can be opened easily.

I found this box on this wonderful website called Scrapbook Lounge . If you haven't checked this site out, please do so because there are some really wonderful projects here. You can watch the video or you can print out the instructions on how to make this wonderful box. I always seem to do better if I watch the video and then print the instructions and start from there.

Using Rub-Ons!!!

Don't you just love all the rub ons that stampin' Up! has in their new catalog. I used a set of rub-ons that came from the Sale-a-bration mini back in February. I used them on this beautiful pitcher that I found at TJ Max. The pitcher is a solid cream and I used the brown rub-ons and I think it really made the pitcher pop.

Scallop Card

Here's a card that I made using the scallop note cards that were in the spring mini a few months ago. I took two of the groovy guava note cards and made a crease down the side of it so that when you open the card, it would have the crease like the other cards. I attached the two note cards together using eyelets I then added some ribbon and then I took a piece of ginger blossom DP and cut it into a circle and attached it to the front of the card. I used square scallop spellbinders nestabilities on the ruby red and river rock CS. I stamped my image from sugar Nellie's onto white cardstock and colored in with groovy guava, river rock, basic black, pomegranate, old olive, blush blossom and the white gel pen on pearls. I then cut the little girl out and attached her to the front with the pop dots.

Post it Note Holders

I thought that I would make a few of these post it note holders. I found the tutorial on some one's blog but can't remember whose it was or I would give them all the credit. I used two of the 4x6 coasters and took one of them and cut out to make a stand so that it would stand up by itself (see photo 1). I took the second coaster and covered it with dp and then I used double sided tape and tape the two coasters together. Since I did not like leaving the back of the coaster plain, I also added dp to it also. Since it was my first one to make, I was not really happy with the turn out of the back. But with practice, I think it will improve. I stamped Just a note on all of the post it notes. and then added my own little extras to it.

I am so happy because I have been able to do a few of the challenges that I love to do. Braedon is in there watching the Bee Movie. He loves that movie. We watched it all day yesterday and I guess we will be doing that again today. But if he's happy that's all that matters.

I like the color purple but for some reason not for a card. But since I had the colors, I really needed to put them to use. I really like the earth tones. My favorite color family out of the stampin' Up! Catalog is the Earth Elements. There maybe one color out of all twelve that I do not like very much. But hey, if I actually would use it, I probably would really like it. Don't you think. Oh well!! Enough about that. On with the card.

I think the card turned out really cute. But I think that I used to much of the purple. It all blends together. I still have a problem with mixing these colors up.

Scrapbook Purse and Birthday Card For a Dear Friend

I made this scrapbook purse for a very special friend for her birthday. We have been friends since college and I cherish her friendship very much. Since I moved away, we do not get to see each other very much but we do keep in contact and we do get together as much as we can and go shopping. Of course there's another special friend, we also went to college and I guess you could say we are the three musketeers. We usually don't do anything unless we all three can get together. Happy Belated Birthday Vivian.

Okay on with my scrapbook purse. I used the new in colors and the new DP which will be available for purchase in the new catalog that will be released next month. This purse is a duplicate of the one I made at my demonstrators class that she offered about 3 or 4 months ago. I just loved it and thought that my friend Vivian would really like it. I also made the Birthday Card to match the purse. This thing took me all day yesterday to put together. It was so time consuming. But I am very happy with the outcome.

Hello Everyone!! Sorry about being MIA for the last few weeks. I have been so busy. Remember me telling you about my two nieces spending the summer with us. Well they just left to go home this past weekend. I already miss them so much. It has been a challenge trying to keep them busy with things that they like to do. I hope by the end of the summer I will be back to blogging regularly (I hope). My son loves to be outside and if we have to come in for anything he gets so upset.

Sorry that I have not posted in awhile. It has been a long week. I have been very busy with my nieces and kids that I just haven't had very much time for stamping. I finely got Braedon to bed and decided that I really needed to make a card. My nieces birthday is coming up really soon and I thought she would like this card. She likes blues and browns together. I am also getting things together for Braedon. He will be turning the big 2 on Tuesday. I just can't believe he will be 2. Time has just flown by since giving birth to him. Well enough about what's going on with me.

Dress Up Maggie

I thought that I would never get this card finished. Every time I tried to do the scoring, I would mess up. It took me forever to figure this thing out. Do you know what my problem was? I had the card upside down. Once I figured that out, it did not take me long to put this little thing together.

My Mother-In-Law gave me my birthday present early. It is a Silhouette Digital Craft Cutter. I haven't gotten it out of the box yet. I hope to play with it next week. Can't wait to see what this little thing can do.

Starting tomorrow, I will be out of town for a few days. I am going to Michigan to pickup my two nieces so that they can spend the summer with my kids. They are so excited. I can't wait to see them.
